Terms of Service
Effective October 9, 2026 · Last revised October 9, 2026
This is a translation of the Korean original (이용약관). In case of any discrepancy, the Korean version governs.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Beyond Korean (hereinafter the “Company”) and users with respect to the use of the Beyond Korean service (hereinafter the “Service”).
Article 2 (Definitions)
“User” means any member or non-member who uses the Service under these Terms. “Member” means a person who has registered an email address and password to sign up for the Service and can continue to use it.
Article 3 (Publication and Revision of the Terms)
The Company posts these Terms where users can easily see them on the Service’s initial or linked screens. The Company may revise the Terms within the bounds of applicable law, and announces the effective date and reasons for revision at least 7 days before the effective date. If a change is unfavorable to users, notice is given with a grace period of at least 30 days in advance. If a user does not express an intention to refuse by the effective date of the revised Terms, the user is deemed to have accepted them.
Article 4 (Sign-up and Accounts)
1. The Service is currently in beta, and only invited persons may sign up. A person who wishes to sign up may apply for membership by entering an invite code issued by the Company or an existing member’s referral code, registering an email address and password through the Service’s procedure, and agreeing to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
2. Invite codes are issued by the Company to waitlist applicants and others. Each invite code can be used only once and expires 30 days after it is issued. Each member is given one referral code, which may be used by more than one person.
3. The Company may limit the number of invite codes it issues depending on how the Service is operating, and waitlist applications may close once they reach a set number.
4. If the Company changes how sign-up works, for example when the beta ends, it will give advance notice under Article 3.
5. Members must manage their own account credentials, and the Company is not responsible for disadvantages arising from negligent account management.
6. The Company restricts sign-ups by persons under 14 years of age.
Article 5 (Service Description)
The Service provides TOPIK II reading practice questions, mock exams, study records, and weakness analysis, and may provide AI-based hint conversations as the Company determines. AI-generated questions and hint conversations are intended as learning aids and may differ from actual TOPIK exam items. The Service is currently provided free of charge; if paid features are added, users will be notified separately in advance.
Article 6 (User Obligations)
- Do not use another person’s account without authorization.
- Do not reproduce or distribute the Service’s content (questions, passages, explanations, etc.) without authorization.
- Do not interfere with the normal operation of the Service.
- Do not engage in acts prohibited by applicable law or these Terms.
Article 7 (Copyright and Restrictions on Use)
The copyright and intellectual property rights to the questions, passages, explanations, screen designs, and other works created by the Company belong to the Company. Users may not use, for profit or provide to third parties, any information obtained through the Service in which the Company holds intellectual property rights — by reproduction, transmission, publication, distribution, broadcast, or other means — without the Company’s prior consent.
Article 8 (Restriction and Suspension of Service Use)
If a user violates these Terms or interferes with the normal operation of the Service, the Company may restrict use or suspend the account without prior notice.
Article 9 (Disclaimer)
The Company is exempt from liability where the Service cannot be provided due to force majeure such as natural disasters or system failures. The Company does not warrant the accuracy of AI-generated learning content (questions, explanations, hint conversations, etc.); users must use it solely as a study reference.
Article 10 (Dispute Resolution and Governing Law)
These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes arising from use of the Service may be submitted to mediation by the Consumer Dispute Mediation Committee or similar bodies, and where litigation is brought, the district court having jurisdiction over the user’s address shall be the competent court.
